They are driven by their ego.

Ego-driven behavior is easy to spot. They have a strong desire to prove they are better than others. That’s why everything is fueled by competition and comparisons. A need to prove they are wonderful drives their every step. They are not like you. They are trying to convince themselves of something. You are different. You are happy to see others win.

Ego-driven people may:

• Feel envy or jealousy when others succeed

• Be unable to commit to anything that doesn’t serve their interests

• Have an exaggerated view of their abilities

• Have patterns of manipulation because everything they do is about them and their needs.

Listen at the end of the day, we are all out here doing the best we can with whatever tools we have. Here are some strategies for dealing with people who have fragile/big/inflated egos:

• Don’t let them bait you into a competition

• Don’t take their self centered ways personally

• Be as positive and encouraging as possible around them

Unhappy people be trying to discourage you.
Trying to wear you out. Trying to see if you’re going to break. Hoping you will fall apart.

Keep an emotional distance from those who you know in your spirit aren’t for you. Don’t let anyone keep showing you what you already know about their heart for you. People who are at war with themselves will inevitably operate with enemy energy in your life.

Take their confusing behavior as a sign of disrespect because that is what it is. Their inconsistency is the fruit of a person who doesn’t know their worth – hoping you don’t know yours. Their disrespect doesn’t change who you are. It reveals who they are. (Insert churchy organ)

Maintain your composure and don’t look to them for validation. Choose not to feel harmed. Stand on the The Word of God and remain the light you are. You’re gonna be just fine.

Try your best to avoid frustrated, angry, complaining people. They will emotionally, spiritually and psychologically pull you down.

Even if it is not intentional you will become drained around people who aren’t working on themselves.

Some people will attach themselves to you because of your light and then work hard to dim it.
